DAT Hosts Successful Biennial Convention
The Dominica Association of Teachers held its 14th Biennial Convention on Wednesday, April 04, 2018 at the St. Alphonsus Parish Hall in Roseau.
The Convention which was held under the theme: “Building Better: DAT Equipped for the Challenge” heard addresses from the Keynote Speaker Miss Schuyler Esprit Ph. D – Registrar and Dean of Academic Affairs at the Dominica State College and Minister for Education and Human Resource Development the Honourable Petter Saint-Jean. In her address Dr. Esprit asked teachers to consider that school is a shelter and that a shelter should be a place of Refuge, a place of Care, a place of Protection and a place of Restoration. She also asked teachers to critically examine their role in “Building Back Better”. The Minister for his part commended the DAT for its outstanding work following the passage of Tropical Storm Erika and Hurricane Maria.

The Dominica Association of Teachers invites applications from suitably qualified members for financial assistance under it Hurricane Maria Relief and Recovery Programme.
The funds were made available to DAT from Education International through the Caribbean Union of Teachers.
